Friends what are the predictions for the coming bulletins (Maybe it�s too early). My 2 cents, Iam assuming quarterly spillover to happen in December, believe that all residual 2003 / 2004 folks will get approval in the next 2 months (I hope Iam not being too optimistic).

I have been to srilanka and only tamils in colombo should have ID wherever they go. I was checked in multiple places because i was from TN.(this was back in 2000).
I have met hundreds of businessman from srilanka in TN who lost everything and doing daily work to live. They were not from south or north part of SL but from colombo..

We have used Web fax in the past, I had also read in a different thread that it (faxes to senators) is how things work here. there were reports of how other groups had used and sent more web faxes than us etc etc ....
Why dont we do that now.

Byeusa, the best of luck to you and your family! I'm in the same boat: already approved by Buffalo, just waiting for my second daughter to be born (any time now :)), and we'll be on our way to Canada. We plan to settle in Calgary, but after I've heard of the new MS office in BC, I might seek to go to Vancouver -- the time will tell.

Three companies and three I-485 attempts later, I've been stuck in retrogression over the last 2.5 years. My family, my business, my life -- everything has been affected, much the same as for most folks on this forum. So, with two US-born kids we'll go up North; our friends are waiting for us in Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto, Montreal, or Vancouver.

I may not have had an opportunity to grow up in India - however, I'm pretty sure - in fact quite certain, the sort of b'wood trash dished out, is nothing representative of Indian culture and ways of life. Most of the stuff encourages ills of American pop culture and feels desperate to the point of being foolish wannabees - and you know what's really sad -- that people from a nation with such incredibly history & culture need the feel to ape ills of American pop culture and the likes. As for Shahrook Khan - the man CAN'T act - unless you think some sort of speech disability, lip-synching songs (sung by folks with actual talent) and running around foolish women in skirts is talent and form art?! I've lived in Stamford CT and Boston for the last 2 years and surprisingly I've never been approached by a single desi Quixtar person here so far. That's one of the best parts about shopping around Boston... you don't have these people wasting so much of your time.
When I lived in the Bay Area (3.5 years) I would chat with these people when time allowed, just move quickly around any strangers who seemed overly eager and always respond with I don't give out my phone numbers to strangers if I am forced to chat. So I guess the lesson is to move to areas where there are fewer Indians. Second look older, grow a paunch. Looking fit or young is a problem because they think you're easier to dupe. ;)
In short I just hate these people with my whole heart and it is a pity that I can no longer chat with random people any longer. What's the value of money if it comes at such a heavy price of destroying a community.

Is this Memorandom final?
If yes, then the options for them whose employer is consulting company and the employer is not direct vendor to the client are as follows:
1. If status is H1B, then join direct client of the employer or switch employer having projects with direct clients.
2. If maintaing H1B status and also have EAD, then switch to EAD ASAP because this Memorandom is for H1B (renewal/extension or Change).
Don't think working for the direct vendor will help. Read page 6 of the report; it will be hard even for the direct vendor to show control over the employee.

I spent almost an hr going through these massive 12 pages and concluded to support British's saying "Indians are dogs" and I want to add the following,

I am from AP and does not belong to either of the casts that people were fighting here.
I like YSR because of his leadership qualities. I like his guts, determination and down to earth personality. This is just his personality and I don't like the way he is spending money and all traps for poor people and making them beg. As many friends here are talking, he is corrupt, kills opponents and land mafia.
From all the posts I have not find a single person to mention JP from Loksatta. If we keep aside the feelings like state, language, caste and religion and encourage JP, we will really see bright India.

Come on, it happens everywhere, not only in India. How many times do you not see 80 year old rich businessman marrying 26 year old beautiful model?
Look at how the bailout money has gone to those people who screwwed the economy.
The reason you think India has issues that other countries do not have is because you are still not stepping out of your Indian shoes.
Go out with your American friends for a drink and discuss these issues - for every issue you discuss - you will get a parallel American counter issue that is similar in nature.
There is nothing called "absolute" in this world and you will realise it now or later. Live in a country side with a constant income and you will find life peaceful because you are not bothered by what is happening.
Or try helping people - and do social service - you will realise that it is a dangerous and thankless job.
Democracy is "not exactly" how it sounds. Unfortunately, life is not fair to anyone and one has to live in within his/her means.
Crying foul over all such stuff will not bring changes. Working within parameters to bring about changes is "unfortunately" the only way how changes have come to the "Mother Earth"

I know what I am about to say will trigger a lot of reaction and some resentment, but it has to be said on behalf of those who are not Indian. I think the per country limit is to ensure that people of all nationalities and races have an equal opportunity to obtain a green card and to ensure that no one nationality, group, or even sector (i.e. IT) monopolizes the so few visas that are available. In fact, in the visa lottery, countries become excluded when the number of immigrants from them reach a certain point, so we are lucky they do not do that in the Employment-based system!
